Philosophy

The goal of my horse work is to create a level where the horses like to work with us and contribute their own ideas. To avoid frustration on both sides and to improve the relationship and understanding between human and horse.

The flight animal horse reacts instinctively and cannot put itself in the place of the "predator" human. So it's our job to listen to the horse and understand it. As soon as you start training for the benefit of the horse on the basis of scientific facts, completely new doors open to a relaxed and harmonious relationship between horse and human, characterized by training success and ease. Being together benefits from the horse's right to have a say and the (self-)confident appearance of the human.

Mistakes are not punished but used to refine communication. I work without escalating pressure, which means that the horse never has time pressure to solve a task, but finds success step by step, with lots of hints if necessary. Depending on the horse and the situation, positive reinforcement can also play a role. Many people know this as clicker training.
I rely on the voluntary cooperation of the horse, I behave fairly and if the work is worthwhile in the eyes of the horse, this is possible.

Working with the horses

fair

Every horse should have the opportunity to learn and express themselves in a safe environment. I want to acknowledge the horse's fear and doubts and not force the horse to do something with tools and methods, but rather work fairly at the horse's pace. I meet the horse at eye level so that it can work voluntarily.

fact based

I don't rely on "it's always been done that way", but work on the basis of facts and scientific knowledge. Everyone should be able to put themselves in the horse's shoes and know how it perceives the world and thinks. I prefer knowledge to guesswork and habit.

empathetic

The horse is by no means naturally at home in our human world. Many of our situations and demands are in conflict with the horse's instinct. Empathy and understanding are essential for a harmonious bond in horse training.

sensitive

An understandable and clear handling of the horse is important. I am always anxious to let the communication with the horse become quieter and more sensitive. Only as much help as necessary and as little as possible. The cooperation should be fun for both sides.

adaptable

Every horse brings different skills, potential and problems. My training is as individual as the horses are. I work in many areas and adapt to the horse. My mindset remains the same, whether I use a ropehalter or train via clicker training. The horse should enjoy the work.

empowering

I want to train every horse so that it feels comfortable in its own body and always gains self-confidence. We throw many challenges in front of the horses' hooves every day, for which I prepare each horse well so that it can go through the world with and without us, confident and relaxed.

The work with you

secure

It is important to me not to put you or your horse in danger. That's why we don't skip any training steps, but prepare you and your horse for everything and respect your limits.

flexible

I want to stay true to my principles and help you achieve your goals. I adapt to your previous work. I'm not forcing my way of training on you, I'll help you find your own. I am also very flexible in terms of content of our training.

empathetic

You should feel comfortable while training. We talk about everything so that you leave the class feeling positive and motivated. I don't want to push you too much. Talking about doubts and fears is therefore very important. But also to share successes and moments of happiness!

explanatory

I don't follow instructions without asking and I don't give instructions without explaining them. You should always know why we do what we do, and what my approach to an exercise is. Theoretical knowledge or knowledge of anatomy, I explain a lot and you ask if you are missing something.

respectful

Respect is very important to me. I'll explain everything to you as often as you need it. Only in a relaxed and safe learning atmosphere can you take something with you in the long term. Impatience and harsh instructions do not exist with me.

empowering

If I've done my job well, sooner or later you won't need me anymore. Your background knowledge is constantly growing, you can recognize connections, plan the training yourself and solve problems.
