I grew up with horses on our farm in northern Germany. As a result, I've been with the horses every day since I could walk and automatically learned a lot about their behavior. I started vaulting and then horseback riding when I was three years old. At the age of seven, however, I realized that just riding a horse wasn't enough for me. In the course of the following years I playfully started with the ground work and trick training with my pony at that time.
Later I got my mare Speedy, who initially presented me with a challenge. She didn't like to be touched, threatened everyone and didn't react to my aids while riding. I got more serious about ground work. Her reactions and the results of our training helped me to develop my very own method.
She is now a dream horse for me. She is looking for closeness, is super affable and easy to ride. She accompanies me in my clinics and performances and is still my biggest teacher.
I was curious whether my type of horse training would also work with other horses and I have worked with strangers' horses at every opportunity, thus expanding my method even further.
When I saw the successes, I knew I wanted to share my knowledge. I started giving courses and classes. I am now self-employed as a horse trainer.
